Chic, playful, stylish, and super convenient – Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Bangkok and I’m so excited to share about it. Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is the first Moxy hotel in Thailand and the largest in the Asia-Pacific region.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong sets the bar really high for my first Moxy experience. Stylish rooms, fun public spaces, sociable service, and a super convenient location at an attractive price point – I’m blown away by Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong and it will be my top choice for my next Bangkok trip.

Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong Location
Location, location, and location! This is the main consideration when I choose a hotel during my overseas trips. Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong’s location ticks all the boxes for convenience.
Situated in Ratchaprasong, the dynamic commercial and retail district of downtown Bangkok, Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong has easy access to the Chit Lom BTS Station and it’s surrounded by so many popular shopping spots, supermarkets, and restaurants.
It’s situated inside the Market Bangkok building and connected to the R-Walk or Ratchaprasong Walk, an open elevated walkway connecting several buildings in the Ratchaprasong area. The R-Walk connecting centralwOrld and Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri leads to a cool elevator that brings guests directly up to the Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong’s check-in area on the 9th level.
Highlights of Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong’s location
- Chit Lom Station: Easy connection to BTS station (500-metre walk)
- Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri: The best supermarket in Bangkok is just next door and you can shop till 2:00am
- centralwOrld: Just cross the overhead bridge to the largest fashion and lifestyle shopping destination in the heart of Bangkok
- Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and MBK Center: Within walking distance and connected to centralwOrld via the R Walk (sheltered, elevated walkway)
- Platinum Shopping Mall: 5-minute walk via R Walk
- Pratunam wholesale area and markets: 10-minute walk to this shopping haven. I took a morning stroll to the Pratunam morning market at 7:00am and it was amazing!
- Eating spots: So many in the area including Michelin Bib Go Ang Pratunam Hainanese Chicken Rice, McDonald’s next door, and a pop-up local food market in the morning in the street beside the hotel
- Erawan Shrine Four-faced Buddha: 5-minute walk (300-metre)
- Convenience shops: 2 7‑Eleven shops just a few minutes’ walk
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong Check-in and Service
The spirit of play starts once you step into Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong. The lobby area on the 1st floor leads to the welcome area on the 9th floor.
I look for the check-in counter when I reach the 9th floor and I am lost for a while until I realise that guests check in at Bar Moxy. Yes, forget the front desk! Moxy instantly eases you into a playful stay with a cocktail (or mocktail) to go along with your room key when you check in at the bar.
The design of the welcome area draws inspiration from the Scala Cinema, a historic cinema in Bangkok. Decorated with artworks like vintage film posters and cinematic motifs, you feel like you are in a classic yet modern movie theatre.
The lively energy of the area is complemented by the dynamic lighting and bright colours. Plus the friendly service by the vibrantly-dressed staff adds to the casual and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong Rooms
Moxy’s hotel rooms are known for efficient and smart layouts. Boasting 504 sleek guest rooms, the hotel is proud of their stylish rooms that functionality and flexibility with fun details.
I’m very impressed by their comfortable and fun rooms. I stay in their standard Moxy queen room (18sqm/194sqft). The room feels bigger as it’s cleverly designed to maximise space. Compact yet functional, it features ingenious modular furniture like Moxy’s signature Stellar Works foldable chairs and a common sliding door for the bathroom and cupboard.
The smart features like adorable Elephant-shaped peg walls that offer the flexibility to adapt the room to the unique needs of each guest. The room is filled with tech-savvy touches including motion-activated LED lights, keyless entry, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi. Bonus: the room comes with a bustling city view.
Their ultra-modern bathroom is furnished with fun colours and contemporary fixtures. The walk-in shower is roomy and there’s even a bench for a shower massage. Just one minor thing about the shower is that there’s no curtain or screen so water would splash out.
If you’re travelling with more people like families and friends, there are more spacious rooms like corner rooms, loft rooms, and family rooms too.
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong Facilities
A standout feature of Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong is the social and recreational spaces filled with fun facilities, designs, and even games.
Plug-In area
I love the spacious multi-functional Plug-In area on 9th level. It’s designed to be a work-friendly environment and entertainment hub. The Plug-In area is equipped with comfortable seating and workstations and perfect for guests, especially digital nomads, to work on their laptops or engage in other work-related activities.
The games area is a fun-filled space that encourages social interaction. There’s a pool table, air hockey, soccer table, and board games for you to enjoy with families and friends. I usually don’t spend much time in a hotel during a holiday but thanks to Moxy’s “Play on” invitation but I found myself playing the games a few times during my stay.
A thoughtful addition is the row of bright pink lockers that are free for guests to use. The lockers are useful for guests to securely store their bags before check in and after.
Library
A separate, enclosed space, the Library is a quiet place with book shelves and cosy seating areas. I like the adorable elephant-themed furniture!
There are ample power outlets and high-speed WIFI. The versatile space caters to both relaxation and productivity.
Fitness Center
The well-equipped fitness center is open 24/7 and it’s a fun place to have a good workout. The spacious gym is filled with natural lights from the expansive glass windows. Infused with playful vibes, the gym has a cute boxing corner with the signature pink boxing bag and matching gloves.
There’s a wide variety of exercise machines like treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical trainers, and also free weights. Unfortunately, with all the shopping and eating in the city, I didn’t have time to use the gym.
There is no pool here. But who has time to swim with all the tempting shopping and eating activities in Bangkok?
Outdoor open air area
The outdoor terrace on the 9th floor offer guests a relaxing space to chill and socialise while enjoying stunning views of the Bangkok skyline from day to night. The outdoor area extends from the Moxy Bar & Restaurant and guests are invited to dine al fresco under the stars.
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong Dining
Moxy Bar & Restaurant is the heartbeat of the hotel. Enhanced by atmospheric background music, the brightly lit communal kitchen offers stunning views of the city’s skyline. The extensive menu serves an enticing list of creative fusion dishes that showcase diverse flavours in classic Thai food.
Breakfast
The breakfast buffet is surprisingly outstanding and I feel so full every morning. Look at the sumptuous spread! What a delicious mix of local dishes and continental breakfast items!
My favourite breakfast session is the cartoon pancake station where the artistic pancake chef creates super cute cartoon character-shaped pancakes. Can you spot my kawaii Doraemon pancake?
I also enjoy the special Thai food corner. They serve a unique local dish every morning and I have the chance to try Thai chicken rice and fish porridge.
Other than breakfast, you can savour delicious food and drinks throughout the day at the Moxy Bar & Restaurant. I enjoy a memorable dinner experience and stuff myself with kale salad, crab fried rice, stir-fried vermicelli noodles with tiger prawns, Moxy brand oyster sliders, amazing juices. and more.
The bar concocts crafted cocktails and fun alcoholic beverages. The highlight of the dinner is the Moxy Shotting Wheel. A boozy ferris wheel of 12 shots, 12 flavours! This is a must-try with friends for a playful night out.
Feeling thirsty? The iconic Moxy Mobile Van Bar serves a variety of hand-crafted cocktails, beers, and other beverages. You can indulge in creative pre- or post-dinner drinks that are both refreshing and visually appealing.
Moxy Bangkok Ratchaprasong also hosts a special event called Grill O’Clock, which takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00pm. This event features mouthwatering grilled dishes served on the outdoor terrace, accompanied by live music from a duo band and DJ. Guests can enjoy drink promotions, including a free-flow drink package.
If you feel hungry late at night, the Moxy Grab + Go offers a convenient selection of snacks and beverages available around the clock. This facility allows guests to grab quick bites or refreshments at any time.
Exciting news! A Moxy rooftop bar is set to open soon, promising an elevated experience where guests can enjoy cocktails and stunning views of the city as they unwind in a chic setting.
